AppFlak was at the launch of Apple’s iPad in the London Regent Street Store on 28 May 2010.
It was an energetic event, but way too busy to compete for actually buying an iPad.
Customers were allowed in to the Regent Street Apple store to view the iPad and play around with it. Needless to say it took a while to get your hands on the demo iPads on display.
Queues to purchase the iPad went around the block. Once you reached the front of the queue you were invited by the stewards to the front door. You were then introduced to your sales rep who accompanied you upstairs to help with the purchase transaction. And for every buying customer there was a welcoming cheer from the apple staff as you enterd the store.
Good fun! Check out the vid.

Was also at the event and was one of the lucky ones who bought an iPad
Heard that wifi on the iPad was not great – read that quite a few people had issues connecting to the router. But so far so good!
